I like Hong Kong, and I will move there. I have some knowledge of both dialects. I like "unique" language, but I want to go into business. . . But I like Hong Kong, and Mandarin is not that "exciting". . . Also depending on your answers, give you some information about the dialect and why you think I should know this instead? THANKS!

ok so im just curious. I have already posted a question wondering if I wanted to learn Mandarin or Cantonese in high school, and it seems more likely that I will learn Mandarin (which I had guessed) and I was wondering how the DIF they are. . I found some people say Cantonese is more difficult than mandrain and such, so im curious to see how different. . some also reminded me that they use the same characters, but besides that it would be like trying to know Spanish as a native English speaker. . . . . I was just curious about the difference. . I want to learn canto more than mandarin cuz my fam was from Hong Kong, but I figured it would help to have some experience than to have none. . and im going to HK for two years as the 10th degrees for a church to give students prgram. . I will be able to learn Mandarin, and then learn Canto online and have a little less of a problem? I want to be as good as I can in both languages, as I am more interested in Asia than in Europe, becuz of my roots. . . thnx!
